'The Lion King' Delays Mandalay Bay Performances Until 5/5February 19, 2009Disney Theatrical Productions and Mandalay Bay have announced the award-winning Broadway phenomenon THE LION KING that is coming to the Mandalay Bay Theatre will delay the scheduled opening dates to 'provide additional time for the transformation of Mandalay Bay Theatre to accommodate the spectacular set' according to a press release. THE LION KING was originally planned to have preview performances begin on April 20th and an official opening on May 2nd, 2009.
