RIALTO CHATTER: Kennedy Center's RAGTIME Looks Set For Broadway BowJune 11, 2009Lynn Ahrens, Stephen Flaherty and Terrence McNally's RAGTIME, which was a critically acclaimed sell out at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. now looks set to bring it's 'new music' to Broadway. While there is no official word or comment an Equity casting notice has been posted to Backstage for a Broadway/Production contract for RAGTIME. The notice states rehearsal and performance dates are to be announced. Equity principal auditions will be held June 22, 24 and 25 while Equity chorus calls are June 26 for dancers and June 23 for singers.
STAGE TUBE: Broadway Bound 'BURN THE FLOOR' TrailerJune 11, 2009Popular Dance show BURN THE FLOOR will play Broadway's Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street) for a limited run beginning July 25, with an opening night set for August 2. Notice of the upcoming run was posted on the show's website, however no official announcement has yet been made. The production will run through Sunday, October 18.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE: A Memorial For Author Scott Schechter Held 6/13June 11, 2009On Friday, May 15th 2009, Scott Schechter died of a sudden heart attack. Scott was instrumental in many re-releases of Liza and Judy's work and was spearheading the upcoming release of Judy & Liza Live at the Pallaium CD when he died.
