The McCallum Theatre presents WEST SIDE STORY: IN CONCERT for five performances Friday, March 9 through Sunday, March 11. This classic musical is being exclusively produced by the McCallum Theatre as part of its Leonard Bernstein Centennial Celebration.  The March 9 performance of West Side Story: In Concert is presented through the generosity of Annette Bloch.  The March 10 performance is presented through the generosity of Richard and Julia Heyman.  The March 11 performance is presented through the generosity of Edeltraud and Patrick M. McCarthy. With a book by Arthur Laurents, music by Leonard Bernstein, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and conception and choreography by Jerome Robbins, West Side Story is one of the most beloved and celebrated musicals in Broadway history.  The original 1957 Broadway production ran for 732 performances and was nominated for six Tony Awards including Best Musical, winning for Best Choreography and Best Scenic Design.  The 1961 musical film, directed by Robert Wise and Robbins, won ten Academy Awards including Best Picture.

This New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players' production is your chance to get carried away by pirates. Join the band of swashbuckling buccaneers, bumbling British bobbies, frolicsome Victorian maidens, and the delightfully dotty "model of a modern Major-General" for a rollicking romp over the rocky coast of Cornwall. The McCallum Theatre presents the New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players' production of The Pirates of Penzance on Wednesday, March 7, at 8:00pm.

The McCallum Theatre and Nic Doodson, producer and creator of Gobsmacked!, are delighted to announce that the sensational, next-generation a cappella show, Gobsmacked! will play for one performance only on Tuesday, March 6, at 8:00pm. Direct from sell-out seasons in London, Hong Kong and Edinburgh comes a mind-blowing vocal show that redefines the human voice. Featuring the reigning world-champion beatboxer, Ball-Zee, and an international cast of world-class vocalists, Gobsmacked! weaves stories through all forms of a cappella from traditional street corner harmonies to cutting-edge, multi-track live looping. 

Through the generosity of Jackie Autry, the McCallum Theatre welcomes the return of The Beach Boys for two performances on Sunday, March 4, at 3:00pm and 7:00pm. You can capsulize most pop music acts by reciting how many hits they've had and how many millions of albums they've sold. But these conventional measurements fall short when you're assessing the impact of The Beach Boys. To be sure, this band has birthed a torrent of hit singles and sold albums by the tens of millions.  But its greater significance lies in the fact that it changed the musical landscape so profoundly that every pop act since has been in its debt.

The McCallum Theatre presents "Jack @ 80: Jack Jones' 80th Birthday" on Saturday, March 3, at 8:00pm. Jack promises a show reflecting his long and illustrious career. Jack Jones was born in Hollywood on the night his singer/movie star father, Allan Jones, recorded his hit 'Donkey Serenade." He would make his famous parents (his mother was the elegant actress Irene Hervey) proud for the diversity and breadth of his talent. Jack attended University High School in West Los Angeles, studying drama and singing with private teachers. A young athlete, he gave up track and football to devote himself to the arts.

Through the generosity of Sue and Artie Buerk, the McCallum Theatre presents Judy Collins on Thursday, March 1, at 8:00pm. The award-winning singer-songwriter is esteemed for her imaginative interpretations of traditional and contemporary folk standards and her own poetically poignant original compositions. Her stunning rendition of Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now" from her landmark 1967 album Wildflowershas been entered into the Grammy Hall of Fame. Judy's dreamy and sweetly intimate version of "Send in the Clowns," a ballad written by Stephen Sondheim for the Broadway musical A Little Night Music, won 'Song of the Year" at the 1975 Grammy Awards.

The McCallum Theatre presents the Walnut Street Theatre's production of Ken Ludwig's Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery, an adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Hound of the Baskervilles, on Tuesday, February 27, at 8:00pm. Baskerville features Ian Merrill Peakes as Sherlock Holmes and Bill Van Horn as Doctor Watson. Additional cast members are Sarah Glicko, Dan Hodge and Jered McLenigan.

The McCallum Theatre presents Keyboard Conversations® with Jeffrey Siegel on Monday, February 26, at 7:00pm. This performance, "The Golden Age of the Piano," will feature "Minuet in G" by Ignace Paderewski; "Spinning Song" by Felix Mendelssohn; "Humoresque, Op. 101, No. 1" by Antonin Dvorak; "Prelude in G Minor, Op. 23, No. 5" by Sergei Rachmaninoff; "April, Op. 39, No. 4" from The Seasons by Peter Ilyich Tchaikowsky; "Wedding Day at Troldhaugen" by Edvard Grieg; "Valse Triste, Op. 44" by Jean Sibelius; and "Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2" by Franz Liszt.

Encore Theatre District will present the hilarious comedy, Beyond Therapy by Christopher Durang, as the final installment in their inaugural performance season. Beyond Therapy centers around two Manhattanites, Bruce and Prudence, who navigate their romantic lives with the help of their crazed therapists. Bruce is an eccentric bisexual man who likes to cry, which Prudence does not care for. The two go on a disastrous date before reporting back to their therapists-Stuart, who has repeatedly lusted after Prudence, and Charlotte, who attempts to guide Bruce by quoting from Peter Shaffer's play, Equus.

Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story on Stage is an unprecedented live experience, exploding with heart-pounding music, passionate romance and sensational dancing. Seen by millions across the globe, this timeless love story features the hit songs "Hungry Eyes," "Hey Baby," "Do You Love Me?" and the heart-stopping "(I've Had) the Time of My Life." The dazzling new production will make its way to The McCallum Theatre for five performances, Friday, February 16, through Sunday, February 18.

Pink Martini, a McCallum favorite returns for eight great shows Friday, February 9, through Thursday, February 15. In 1994 in his hometown of Portland, Thomas Lauderdale was working in politics, with the intention of eventually running for office. Like other eager politicians-in-training, he went to every political fundraiser under the sun, but was dismayed to find the music at these events underwhelming, lackluster, loud and un-neighborly. Drawing inspiration from music from all over the world, crossing genres of classical, jazz and old-fashioned pop, and hoping to appeal to conservatives and liberals alike, he founded the "little orchestra" Pink Martini in 1994 to provide beautiful and inclusive musical for political fundraisers for progressive causes such as civil rights, the environment and affordable housing.

Tickets for the 11th annual Michael Childers' production of One Night Only: Rodgers, Hammerstein & Hart, are now on sale. This star-studded musical production will be presented on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 @ 6:30pm, at the McCallum Theatre for the Performing Arts and benefits Jewish Family Service of the Desert (JFS). Since 2008, One Night Only has sold out has sold out quickly every year.

The McCallum Theatre presents Kinky Boots, the Tony Award winning Best Musical,for five performances, Friday, February 2, through Sunday, February 4. The winner of six 2013 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Kinky Boots features a Tony Award-winning score by Cyndi Lauper, a book by Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein, and direction and choreography by Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell. Kinky Boots tells the uplifting and heartwarming tale of Charlie Price, a young man reluctantly taking over his family's struggling shoe factory and looking for a fresh idea. Charlie meets and finds inspiration in Lola, and together they discover that it takes a good friend to make a great pair.

Leslie Tinnaro will repeat her one-woman show Loving Lerner My Heart Took Flight , a tribute to songwriter Alan Jay Lerner, on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at 2 PM at the Arthur Newman Theater located in the Joslyn Center at 73750 Catalina Way in Palm Desert. Tickets are $15 cash at the box office that opens at 1 PM. Leslie Tinnaro comes to the Arthur Newman Theater following her 3 sold out performances of this production at the Coachella Valley Repertory Theater in Rancho Mirage last July.

From the pen of legendary composer Marvin Hamlisch, the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning singular sensation, A Chorus Line, is dancing into Palm Desert at the McCallum Theatre for five performances, Friday, January 26, through Sunday, January 28. With its celebration and true-to-life depiction of performers and their struggle to achieve greatness on the Broadway stage, A Chorus Line has earned unanimous praise as one of the true masterpieces of live theater.

The performance by WILLIE NELSON, originally scheduled for this evening, January 8, 2018, at 8:00 PM, has been cancelled due to illness. A replacement date is being sought, but none has been scheduled as of yet. Anyone holding a ticket for the Willie Nelson performance may either hold on to the ticket pending a new date or may return their ticket for a refund or exchange.

Two theatrical legends. One Stage. Chita Rivera and Tommy Tune are coming to the McCallum Theatre on Thursday, January 25, at 8:00pm. Chita & Tune: Just in Time is a unique concert event that pairs two of Broadway's most revered legends. Chita Rivera and Tommy Tune collectively have won 12 Tony Awards and this iconic Broadway coupling is guaranteed to dazzle audiences. Chita Rivera and Tommy Tune will showcase the artistry and history that has made them stars of the Great White Way and beyond. The duo will be accompanied by a trio of superb Broadway musicians.

The Capitol Steps, a Washington DC-based comedy troupe that began as a group of Senate Staffers will present a show based on songs from their current album What to Expect When You're Electing. The Capitol Steps have been a Washington, DC institution for over thirty years, providing a unique blend of musical and political comedy to our nation's Capitol and more. The McCallum Theatre presents The Capitol Steps on Sunday, January 14, at 3:00pm.

The McCallum Theatre welcomes the return of Willie Nelson on Monday, January 8, at 8:00pm. The words 'living legend' can truly be applied to Willie Nelson. His career has spanned six decades, he's earned every award in his profession, and he has amassed credentials as an activist, actor and author.

Work Light Productions and the McCallum Theatre present MOTOWN THE MUSICAL for eight performances Tuesday, January 16, through Sunday, January 21.
