Shrek: The Musical star John Tartaglia will star in 'The New Fangled Variety Show' at Comix at 7pm and 9pm on August 10. The show will be directed by Donna Drake and will feature musical direction by Ken Clifton. Special guest stars Bobby Daye, Aymee Garcia, Noah Rivera and Jennifer Simard will join Tartaglia for the evening.

Philly Improv Theater (PHIT) announces that it will host a three-night festival of funny women in July. The festival, cheekily named Bonerama, will showcase sketch and improv performances by some of the funniest female performers in the region. The festival runs Thursday, July 16-Saturday July 18 with shows at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. each night. Each performance will be at 407 Bainbridge Street.

Stonewall Country returns to celebrate its 25th Anniversary at Theater at Lime Kiln for four performances, July 9th through 12th at 7:30pm. The musical retelling of the life of Stonewall Jackson premiered at Lime Kiln in 1984, with music by Robin and Linda Williams and the book by then artistic director Don Baker. Baker and the Williams duo are helping recreate the piece that put Lime Kiln on the map as a regional theatre.

The 'New' McCree Theatre is moving. McCree's new home will be in the Urban League of Flint facility at 5005 Cloverlawn at Pierson Road, Flint, Michigan. 'In a way, we're going back home,' said Charles Winfrey, executive director of the 'New' McCree Theatre. The Urban League served as the operating agency for the theatre from 1971 until 1985.' He said the move was necessitated by the need to offer more performing arts training programs. 'We have certainly enjoyed our five-year relationship with the Christ Enrichment Center,' Winfrey said, 'their hospitality and graciousness exceeded all expectations. But we felt a need to offer our young artists more in the way of workshops and other performing opportunities, and the space was just not there.'
Universal CityWalk will become 'Universal MoonWalk' for one night with Southern California's largest outdoor public celebration of Michael Jackson's life and music on Thursday, July 9, as part of CityWalk's ongoing Summer Block Party free summer marathon of movies and music.
