According to whatsonstage.com, Andrew Lloyd Webber's son, Nick Lloyd Webber, has recently completed writing a new, high-scale musical entitled THE LITTLE PRINCE. Based on the classic French book, THE LITTLE PRINCE will be an English interpretation of the well-known story. The younger Lloyd Webber is hoping to premiere the project in the of Winter 2010/11 and is cureently seeking a venue.

The award is given annually to famous alumni of the Brooklyn public school. In addition to Zwick, Madison's other 2010 honorees include the late Cal Abrams, Judith Blun Sheindlin (aka Judge Judy), Maury Allen and Deborah Tobias Poritz, among others.

According to whatsonstage.com, British actress Maria Friedman will direct a revival of Sondheim's MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG at The Menier Chocolate Factory, in celebration of Sondheim's 80th birthday. Dates for the production are unknown at this time. Friedman is n stranger to the piece. She has not only appeared in the production, but also recently directed a student production at the Central School of Speech and Drama. The Menier Chocolate Factory has previously hosted other Sondheim revivals such as SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE and SWEENEY TODD.

PS Classics' release of 'Life Begins at 8:40' is now available for pre-order purchase on psclassics.com and ITunes! The CD will be available in stores on June 8. The Harold Arlen, Ira Gershwin and Yip Harburg collabrative revue was presented in concert at The Library of Congress on March 22 with Kate Baldwin, Montego Glover, Philip Chaffin, Christopher Fitzgerald, Rebecca Luker, Brad Oscar, Graham Rowat, Jessica Stone and Faith Prince. Both the concert and the recording were conducted by Aaron Grandy. According to Playbill.com, The CD package will include a 32-page color booklet with essay, complete lyrics and glossary.

Tony Award-winning actor John Lloyd Young (Jersey Boys, GLEE) joined Grammy-winning and Tony and Emmy-nominated songwriter Allee Willis (The Color Purple, Friends) on Sunday, May 23 to host FOOD FOR THOUGHT, the world premiere exhibition of Young's artwork. Young specializes in Pop Kitsch art, and FOOD FOR THOUGHT spotlights pieces that play off iconic comfort food and drinks, including mac ‘n' cheese, Good & Plenty®, Grape Crush®, and Hungry-Man® frozen dinners. The event was a fundraiser for AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA). VIP guests included Lesley Ann Warren (Desperate Housewives, Will & Grace), Ricki Lake and Charles Phoenix. FOOD FOR THOUGHT took place at Willis Wonderland, Willis' private studio and home to the world's largest collection of Kitsch.

Today, Tuesday, May 25, The Kennedy Center announced that Tina Fey is the 2010 recipient of the Mark Twain Prize of American Humor. Established in 1998, the annual award is to an individual who has had an impact on American society in ways similar to 19th century novelist and essayist, Mark Twain. The ceremony, to be held Tuesday November 9, will feature a lineup of the biggest names in comedy, and will be taped for television broadcast.

The opening-night celebration will feature the cast of Broadway's SOUTH PACIFIC singing 'Derivative Song' and 'Galaxy Song'. Kelli O'Hara, who originated the role of Nelli Forbush in the SOUTH PACIFIC revival, will perform 'Stardust'.
