Five Star to play REWIND THE 80S MUSIC FESTIVALSJuly 16, 2012Five Star features Denise Pearson who recently appeared on BBC1's THE VOICE. The band will appear at both Rewind Festivals in the UK in July and August. The first of the two festivals takes place at Scone Palace, Perth, Scotland from Friday, July 20-22. The second Rewind Festival will take place at Temple Island Meadows, Henley-on-Thames from Friday, August 17-19.

Ravinia Festival Presents American Premiere of Kurt Weill's MAGICAL NIGHT, 7/19July 13, 2012On July 19, one of the highlights of James Conlon's 2012 season at Ravinia will be the American premiere of Kurt Weill's first completed stage work, MAGICAL NIGHT. The pantomime will be staged by T. Daniel Productions (TDP) and is based on a scenario by Russian writer Wladimir Boritsch. Soprano Janai Brugger will perform in her Ravinia debut. Schreker's THE WIND will also be performed on this concert.
Didi and Oscar Schafer Give $1 Million to Support CONCERTS IN THE PARKSJuly 13, 2012New York Philharmonic Board Member Oscar Schafer and his wife, Didi, have given a $1 million gift to the New York Philharmonic to support the free CONCERTS IN THE PARKS. This follows a $5 million gift the Schafers made in 2007 to the PARKS series, which has been renamed the NEW YORK PHILHARMONIC CONCERTS IN THE PARKS, presented by Didi and Oscar Schafer, in their honor.
