American Thymele Theatre's CHILDREN OF HERCULES Playing for Free In Venues Around NYC, 8/7-11July 23, 2012American Thymele Theatre's NYC Euripides Summer Festival Series presents Euripides' rarely staged and timely play CHILDREN OF HERCULES from August 7th thru 11th with outdoor performances at the East River Park Amphitheatre (8/7 and 8/8), the Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park (8/9) and at Theatre 500 in the Times Square Arts Center (8/11). Stephen Diacrussi directs a cast of 25 headed by Michael Raimondi, Diana Swinburne, Tara Bancroft, Stephen Powell, Nicholas Sattinger, Paul Kirchmeyr and Ian Scott. The chorus is led by David Bushman.
Five Star Play REWIND THE 80S Music Festivals from Today, July 20July 20, 2012Five Star features Denise Pearson who recently appeared on BBC1's THE VOICE. The band will appear at both Rewind Festivals in the UK in July and August. The first of the two festivals takes place at Scone Palace, Perth, Scotland from today, July 20-July 22. Madame Walker Theatre Center Receives Half Million Dollars from Lilly EndowmentJuly 16, 2012The Madame Walker Theatre Center is pleased to accept a grant in the amount of $500,000 from Lilly Endowment Inc. In April 2012, the historic nonprofit announced its need for $1 million to keep up with its arts programming and general building maintenance. The Board of Directors estimated $1 million for a new HVAC system, sewage repairs, updated electrical wiring as well as new lighting and sound equipment for the 937-seat theatre.
