Today, POND are announcing Sessions, an album of live studio performances composed of songs from across their discography. The long player was recorded while on tour in the EU this Spring. The digital and vinyl release is officially out Novermber 8, 2019 on Spinning Top/Interscope, however, those who have purchased tickets to attend the band's upcoming North American tour will be able to pick up the vinyl at the shows. With this announcement comes the exhilarating album cut 'Don't Look At The Sun (Or You'll Go Blind),' a live, fan-favorite, taken from their debut LP Psychedelic Mango released in 2009. The band's Jay Watson had the following to say on the genesis of Sessions: 'We wanted to capture how the band has been playing live lately and commit that to tape while we were in the middle of a long tour. As you play the same song for years, or even as a single tour rolls on, the way you play the songs mutates. Little inflections and fills become part of the song, and the structures and even the overall feeling and intent of the songs change. I always loved listening to my favorite bands' 'Peel Sessions' and wanted something of our own in that vein. We hope you dig it!'

Supergrass have today announced they are reforming for a theatre tour of the UK, Europe and North America in 2020. The thirteen date tour will kick off in Paris on 4th February, before the UK leg culminates with a huge show at London's Alexandra Palace on 6th March 2020. Legendary rock band Angel are releasing their new album Risen on October 4th on Cleopatra Records. The album will have 17 solid tracks featuring 15 brand new songs written by original members Punky Meadows and Frank Dimino along with current member Danny Farrow and a remake of the classic track “Tower.” They describe the songs as very diverse ranging from Heavy to very Melodic with real strong hooks featuring many elements of the classic Angel sound. This album will appeal to all Angel fans of every era and previous albums.

Triple Tigers Records recording artists GONE WEST, featuring Colbie Caillat, today released the video for “What Could've Been”, which premiered yesterday at People. Directed by Patrick Tracy, and filmed in Franklin, TN at the “Fork Inn” of Big East Fork Valley in the beautiful landscape of the Tennessee Hills, the video features the band's two couples acting out the “before” and “after” of a broken romance and its heartbreak.  

Following the announcement of his return to ADE with a special fifteen-year anniversary for his Identity Radio Show, pioneering Dutch producer/DJ Sander van Doorn adds another event to the festival's calendar, this time at the illustrious Melkweg. Partnering once more with Dolby Atmos, Sander Van Doorn's Purple Haze event aims to dismiss two-channel audio limitations, replacing it with a sound that revolves around the listener in a three-dimensional space.

Craft Recordings is excited to announce a 25th anniversary reissue of R.E.M.'s acclaimed ninth album, Monster. Remastered by Greg Calbi at Sterling Sound, the title will be available on various physical formats, as well as digitally, on November 1. A five-CD, one-Blu-ray deluxe box set will include the original album, a special 2019 remix from Monster producer Scott Litt, a CD of previously unreleased demos from the album and a complete live 1995 performance captured in Chicago. The accompanying Blu-ray will offer Monster in both hi-resolution audio and 5.1 Surround Sound, as well as a host of video content: the 90-minute film Road Movie, which documents R.E.M.'s 1995 tour, and all six music videos from Monster. The collection will be packaged in a five-and-a-half-inch portfolio book, featuring liner notes by journalist Matthew Perpetua—with new insight from band members—and archival photographs. An expanded edition of Monster, offering the original album and the 2019 remixed version, will also be available on two 180-gram vinyl LPs or two CDs, both featuring reimagined cover art by longtime R.E.M. designer Chris Bilheimer. The remastered album will also be available as a standalone 180-gram vinyl LP, with Bilheimer's original Monster art.

GRAMMY®-nominated Cuban pianist, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, composer and bandleader Roberto Fonseca is set for the release of his new album, Yesun, October 18 via Mack Avenue Records. 

Acclaimed singer, songwriter and musician Ruston Kelly will release his new project, Dirt Emo Vol. 1, October 11 via Rounder Records (pre-order here). The 8-track release consists of Kelly's favorite emo songs including a rendition of Dashboard Confessional's “Screaming Infidelities,” featuring the band's lead singer Chris Carrabba, which is premiering today. 

World Circuit Records is reissuing four of its cornerstone albums. Remastered and available on vinyl for the first time, Ali Farka Touré's Savane and Omara Portuondo's Buena Vista Social Club Presents are on LP and digital formats today, followed by Radio Tarifa's Rumba Argelina and Guillermo Portabales' El Carretero, which are due on CD, LP and digital formats on October 4.

The Grammy award-winning Tuareg musicians Tinariwen are still a desert band, only certain aspects of which the western music industry can ever hope to capture and present. Tinariwen existed long before any of their albums were recorded and their existence is still quite distinct from their discographic dimension. So, the best Tinariwen album doesn't exist. But it's still worth trying to go and find it.
