Signature Theatre presents the world premiere production of Disney's Freaky Friday. Developed by Disney Theatrical Productions expressly for licensing to theatres, Freaky Friday features a book by Bridget Carpenter, music by Tom Kitt and lyrics by Brian Yorkey. This premiere production will be directed by Christopher Ashley with choreography by Sergio Trujillo. Freaky Friday will run from October 4 - November 20 in Signature Theatre's MAX Theatre. The “highest court in the land” just took on a new meaning in “The High Court,” a new Comedy Central series from comedian Doug Benson, it was announced today by Kent Alterman, President, Comedy Central. Set to premiere in early 2017, “THC,” is a fifteen-minute strip series featuring “Judge Doug” as he gets high and rules on real small claims court cases. Executive produced by Benson, Bruce Smith, JASH's Daniel Kellison and Propagate's Ben Silverman, Howard Owens and Kevin Healey, “The High Court” concept is loosely born from Benson and JASH's popular YouTube show, “Getting Doug with High.”

The Drama Book Shop recently welcomed three-time Tony Award-nominee Marin Mazzie and her husband, Broadway veteran, Jason Danieley, for an intimate discussion about life in the theatre and Mazzie's ongoing journey with ovarian cancer. The Monday, October 17th discussion was free to the public and was broadcast via Facebook live.

The second annual Greenwich Village Film Festival is selling out at a rapid pace after much buzz and excitement generated from industry and neighbors at last year's inaugural festival. A truly independent festival in spirit it has grown from a one night event to three and it can certainly attest that it does indeed “take a village” to produce such a community endeavor.

The Orchard announced today that they have acquired rights to HUNTER GATHERER, the debut film from filmmaker Josh Locy.  Rough House Pictures will release the film in theaters in NYC and LA on November 16 with a theatrical rollout to follow. The Orchard will release the film via digital platforms in Early 2017.

Today, Netflix released the trailer for 'Joe Rogan: Triggered,' a new one-hour original stand-up comedy special from comedian Joe Rogan.  The special premieres Friday, October 21 exclusively on Netflix.
