“Meet the Press with Chuck Todd” (MTP) was the most-watched Sunday public affairs program on Sunday, April 2, according to Nielsen data, marking its first time as #1 season-to-date in every demographic since the 2010-2011 season.

NBC News' TODAY was the number-one morning show last week topping ABC's “Good Morning America” once again in the key demo A25-54. TODAY has now won 66 straight weeks in the key demo (82 of 83 weeks), its best streak in more than four years. TODAY's A25-54 and A18-49 wins over GMA have reached five-year highs, season to date.

NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt” ranked #1 in the demo for the week of March 27, averaging 1.8 million A25-54 viewers, leading “ABC World News Tonight” by +115,000 viewers (+7%) and “CBS Evening News” by +433,000 viewers (+32%). Nightly News holds its largest demo leads over ABC and CBS in three seasons. Compared to last season, Nightly News' demo lead over ABC is up +17%, while its advantage over CBS is up +13%.

 In partnership with Emmy Award-winning executive producer Mark Burnett (The Voice, Survivor), Chris Hardwick and the Silicon Valley institution Singularity University, NBC has ordered six episodes of “The Awesome Show,” a new series that will showcase the groundbreaking scientific and technological advances that are shaping the future, as well as celebrate the pioneers and communities at the forefront of this golden age of unprecedented discovery, innovation and opportunity.

CBS placed first in viewers and demographics for the third straight week, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending April 2.

Comedian Iliza Shlesinger is bringing her incisive perspective to a new weekly late-night talk show, “Truth & Iliza.” “Truth & Iliza” is getting a six-week run starting TUESDAY, MAY 2 (10:02 – 10:32 p.m. EDT), and will serve as a platform for Iliza's societal observations and sketches fueled by her opinions as well as in-studio celebrity guest and expert interviews.

 For the week of March 27, MSNBC's “The Rachel Maddow Show” (M-F 9-10pm) was the number-one show in the key A25-54 demo among all cable news, according to Nielsen. This is the third straight week that the “The Rachel Maddow Show” has overtaken FOX News' “The O'Reilly Factor” in A25-54. MSNBC dayside (M-F 9am-5pm) also ranked #2 for the week, surpassing CNN in total viewers for the first time since the week of January 20, 2014.

“Boxeo Telemundo Ford” ended its spring season (February-March) as the most watched boxing program on Spanish-language television with an average of 432,000 total viewers and 212,000 adults 18-49, according to Nielsen. The season featured four straight weeks of events every Friday night, from February 24 through March 17. The highest event of the season was on March 3 when Antonio “Toño” Morán took on Richard “El Diamante” Zamora in a one-round knockout win for the super lightweight title delivering 453,000 total viewers and 245,000 adults 18-49.

This season welcomed the very first Broadway production of the August Wilson drama, Jitney. Based on the real-life cab services of the 1970's which would service clients of color when regular taxi cabs would not, the story examines the relationships of the community in and around a jitney station in Pittsburgh's Hill District. Being the last play of Wilson's American Century Cycle to reach the Main Stem, the production adds the final jewel to the crown of August Wilson's sterling Broadway legacy.

Multi platinum-selling Grammy and Tony nominated singer-songwriter and New York Times best-selling author Sara Bareilles, who composed the music and lyrics for the hit Broadway show Waitress, will make her Broadway acting debut on March 31 in the lead role of Jenna Hunterson for a limited engagement of 10 weeks, through June 11, 2017. Joining her are TV star Chris Diamantopoulos as Dr. Pomatter, who inspires the expert pie-maker to create an 'I Wanna Play Doctor with my Gynecologist' pie, and beloved Broadway leading man and Tony Award nominee Will Swenson as Earl, Jenna's ne'er-do-well husband.

In a primetime special, “The Last 100 Days of Diana,” ABC News retraces the events of Princess Diana's first and last tumultuous summer as a single woman, divorced from Prince Charles, caught between romantic affairs until the moment of her tragic and untimely death in a car accident in Paris. The two-hour broadcast is hosted by former ABC News “Nightline” co-anchor Martin Bashir and premieres SUNDAY, MAY 7 (9:00 – 11:00 p.m. EDT), on The ABC Television Network.

ABC's “The View” averaged 2.667 million Total Viewers, 479,000 Women 25-54 and 319,000 Women 18-49 during the week of March 20, 2017, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “The View” beat CBS' “The Talk” (2.478 million, 435,000 and 289,000, respectively) in Total Viewers (+189,000), Women 25-54 (+44,000) and Women 18-49 (+30,000).

NBC Sports Group earned 41 Sports Emmy Award nominations for 2016, highlighted by 14 nominations for its coverage of the Games of the XXXI Olympiad in Rio – the most of any single program this year – and 11 nominations for its NFL coverage.
