As BroadwayWorld reported in July, Academy Award-winner Jennifer Hudson will lead Tom Hooper's upcoming film adaptation of CATs as 'Grizabella', alongside Ian McKellen, James Corden, and Taylor Swift. Mile Square Theatre, Hudson County's leading professional theatre, continues its 2018 season with Christopher Durang's hilarious comedy about love, life and family, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike. Durang drops a mixed bag of Chekhovian characters in contemporary Bucks County in this comic tour-de-force. Relentlessly silly and smart, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike deservedly won the 2013 Tony Award for Best Play and the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play.

Ben Platt originated the title role in 'Dear Evan Hansen' to critical acclaim (Obie Award, Outer Critics Circle and Drama League nominations) and won the 2017 Tony Award for his Broadway performance. Platt was the original Elder Cunningham in the Chicago production of 'The Book of Mormon' and reprised the role on Broadway (dir. Trey Parker and Casey Nicholaw).

'Urinetown, The Musical' is a hilarious tale of greed, corruption, love, and revolution in a time when water is worth its weight in gold. In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought, has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity's most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides he's had enough, and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom!

Last week, BroadwayWorld was saddened to report the passing of Marin Mazzie at age 57. Mazzie had previously suffered from and shared publicly her battle with ovarian cancer. The Actor's Fund honored the late Tony-nominee with a video of her performance of 'When Did I Fall in Love?' from the 2017 Actors Fund Gala.  See her performance below.
