LET DINKY DIE: what happens in the trenches, stays in the trenches. Seriously.
The Butterfly Club and My Ugly Brother is proud to present a little story of one man's war and its place within a nation's identity. LET DINKY DIE is the first original production of the new company, My Ugly Brother, and will be featured at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer.
The Western Front. Some body parts. A weird pigeon. Bad German accents. Wilson and his Alpaca. Disco lights. Show tunes. You know...the usual WW1 period piece stuff. Featuring the quintessential true blue Aussie scallywag. He also likes to sing original compositions and break into occasional improvisations of jazz ballet. But now, in 1916, Dinky is stranded, all alone in no man's land. The sounds of battle are drawing nearer. Faced with the ultimate dilemma he must make a choice: does he wait for reinforcements that may never come, or does he make a stand with gun in hand? Before the end there'll be time. Time to remember. Time to imagine. Time to sing songs and dream of a life given like so many others in the building of a country's story of itself.
LET DINKY DIE will run from Wednesday June 29th to Sunday the July 3rd at The Butterfly Club. Tickets are available at https://thebutterflyclub.com
