Quantum Collective has unveiled the lineup for their 5th Annual Southwest Invasion concert series, held from March 17-19 in Austin, TX. Built around a philosophy of discovery, the event creates a village of artists, goods, non-profit organizations and services for an audience of 15,000 people on the rooftop and in the courtyard of the Whole Foods flagship store in Austin.
Performing this year are Talib Kweli, MSTRKRFT, Deap Vally, Arkells, Green River Ordinance, Jamie Kent, Into It. Over It. Lucky Chops, Night Beats, Overcoats, Quiet Company, Gingger Shankar, The Wild Feathers and Wintersleep, with more acts to be announced in the coming weeks.
"We have an incredible amount of talent taking the stage this year," says Quantum Collective co-founder Liz Leahy. "Each one of the bands is vastly creative, from the electronic genius of MSTRKRFT to Talib Kweli's brilliant rhymes to the world's coolest brass band, Lucky Chops and so many more," adds co-founder Dan Silver. "We're giving our audience a lot to discover."
Previous Southwest Invasion concerts have become a bellwether of breakthrough success for bands performing, including Imagine Dragons, The Lumineers, Capital Cities, Pentatonix, Kongos, X Ambassadors and A Great Big World. Other acts featured in the past include Mary Lambert, G Love, Matisyahu, Lisa Marie Presley, Suzanne Vega and The Zombies.
"Southwest Invasion curates on a level of discovery, creating special opportunities for the bands and the brands involved to connect directly with fans and build relationships that last long after the event," continues Silver. "Imagine Dragons, the X Ambassadors, Pentatonix and so many more have played our stages just before their careers broke through to the mainstream."
