Spivey Hall presents the debut performances of both the Ying Quartet and composer and double bassist, Xavier Foley. Foley is writing a new work that will be paired with Dvoák’s String Quartet. The Ying Quartet combines brilliantly communicative performances with a fearlessly imaginative view of chamber music in today’s world. A native of Marietta, Ga., and a graduate of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra’s Talent Development Program and the Curtis School of Music, Foley “is a dazzling player who hears borders between styles as limitations best ignored. (Philadelphia Inquirer)
