Also tonight is MTC's 2019 gala, honoring Nancy Coyne. The Gala will feature performances by the casts of many of the most acclaimed musicals on Broadway including Ain't Too Proud, Be More Chill, Beetlejuice, The Cher Show, Choir Boy, Hadestown, King Kong, Pretty Woman, and Tootsie.

MTC Will Honor Nancy Coyne at Tonight's 2019 Spring Gala!
Manhattan Theatre Club will present its annual Spring Gala tonight, Monday, May 13 at Cipriani 42nd Street (110 East 42nd Street). This year's event will honor Serino Coyne Founder and Chairman Nancy Coyne for being a tireless advocate for the arts. The Gala will feature performances by the casts of many of the most acclaimed musicals on Broadway including Ain't Too Proud, Be More Chill, Beetlejuice, The Cher Show, Choir Boy, Hadestown, King Kong, Pretty Woman, and Tootsie. All performances are subject to change.
The evening will be directed by Richard Maltby Jr. The creative team includes Philip S. Rosenberg (lighting design), Leon Rothenberg (sound design), and Justin Hornback (music direction).
Desi Oakley joins the cast of Chicago beginning tonight!
Oakley joins the Broadway production as "Roxie Hart" for six weeks of performances. In her first two-week engagement, Oakley makes her debut in the role on Monday, May 13 and plays through Sunday, May 26. She returns for a second two-week engagement, Monday, June 17 through Sunday, June 30. She then returns for a two-week engagement, Monday, July 15 through Sunday, July 28.
Also returning to the company on Monday, May 13, Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly and Ryan Silverman as Billy Flynn join Oakley and the cast which also includes Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart, NaTasha Yvette Williams as Matron "Mama" Morton and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.

The big winner this year is Hadestown, taking home 6 awards, including Outstanding New Broadway Musical, Outstanding New Score, and Amber Gray for Outstanding Featured Actress!
Other shows with multiple awards included All My Sons, The Cher Show, The Ferryman, King Kong, and Tootsie. King Kong also took home a special achievement award for its puppetry team.
Stage favorites Jenn Colella, Tina Fey, Hamish Linklater, Lindsay Mendez, and Lily Rabe will serve as gala award presenters at the upcoming 69th Annual Outer Critics Circle Awards ceremony on Thursday, May 23rd at 3:00 PM at the legendary Sardi's Restaurant.

This year's Stars in the Alley concert was held on May 10. Hosted by Alex Brightman, the celebration included performances and appearances by 2019 Tony Award-nominated performers including: Caitlin Kinnunen (The Prom), Sarah Stiles (Tootsie), as well as performances from 2019 Tony Award-nominated musicals including: Ain't Too Proud - The Life and Times of the Temptations; Beetlejuice; Hadestown; Kiss Me, Kate; Rodgers and Hammerstein's Oklahoma!; The Prom; and Tootsie.

Social Butterfly: Bryan Cranston and Stephen Colbert Take THE LATE SHOW's Studio Audience Through Times Square
During a recent episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Stephen and Bryan Cranston take the Late Show's studio audience of 400+ people through Times Square.
The pair led the crowd on a journey from the Ed Sullivan Theater to the National Theatre, where Bryan is currently starring in Network.
