Good morning, BroadwayWorld! Because we know all our readers eat, sleep and breathe Broadway, what could be better than waking up to it? Today's big news: Roundabout's Just Jim Dale opens off-Broadway tonight, and the IF/THEN cast recording hits shelves today, along with Ahrens & Flaherty's live album NICE FIGHTING YOU.
TODAY'S TOP ITEMS:
NEWS YOU MISSED YESTERDAY:
Broadway Weather Forecast: High of 82 with scattered evening thunderstorms. Stay dry!
Quote of the Day: Jim Dale on hooking an audience...
It's a little like casting out hundreds of fishing lines into the audience. You start getting little bites, then more, then you hook a few, then more. Then you can start reeling them in and that's a loveliest feeling - the whole audience laughing with you.
-- Jim Dale (via BrainyQuote)
What we're looking forward to: The BULLETS OVER BROADWAY cast recording, out just after the Tonys on June 10!
And finally, a Happy Birthday shout-out to Anderson Cooper, who turns 48 today!
Cooper lent his voice to the 2011 revival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying; his pre-recorded announcer's voice played the narrator, with Daniel Radcliffe and John Larroquette starring in the show. Cooper is best known for his work as a journalist and television personality and anchors the CNN news show Anderson Cooper 360°. He also hosted his daytime talk show -- Anderson Live -- from 2011-2013.
See you bright and early tomorrow, BroadwayWorld!
