Close just starred on Broadway opposite John Lithgow in A Delicate Balance. Among her other Broadway credits are The Play What I Wrote, Sunset Boulevard and Death and the Maiden (both won her Tony Awards -- in 1995 and 1992, respectively), Benefactors, The Real Thing (her first Tony in 1984), Barnum, The Crucifer of Blood, Rex, The Member of the Wedding, The Rules of the Game and Love for Love. She is a three-time Emmy winner for Serving in Silence: The Margarethe Cammermeyer Story and her part in the FX series Damages. Close has received Oscar nominations for her roles in The World According to Garp, The Big Chill, The Natural, Fatal Attraction, Dangerous Liaisons and Albert Nobbs. The actress also won a Golden Globe for her performance in the TV film The Lion in Winter.
