MTC AT NEW YORK CITY CENTER - STAGE I
Incognito
American Premiere by Nick Payne
Directed by Doug Hughes
Previews Begin: Tuesday, May 3, 2016
Opening Night: Tuesday, May 24, 2016

Nick Payne, the acclaimed writer who brought you the sold-out Broadway sensation Constellations, returns to Manhattan Theatre Club with Incognito, an "astonishing and original" (The Telegraph) American premiere play.

A pathologist steals the brain of Albert Einstein; a neuropsychologist embarks on her first romance with another woman; a seizure patient forgets everything but how much he loves his girlfriend. Incognito braids these mysterious stories into one breathtaking whole that asks whether memory and identity are nothing but illusions. Directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes (Doubt, Outside Mullingar, The City of Conversation), Incognito takes us into the last uncharted realm-the mind.

Casting, creative team, and additional listings information for Incognito will be announced in the coming weeks.

MTC AT THE STUDIO AT STAGE II - HAROLD AND MIMI STEINBERG NEW PLAY SERIES
Important Hats of the Twentieth Century
World Premiere Comedy by Nick Jones
Directed by Moritz Von Stuelpnagel
Previews Begin: Tuesday, November 10, 2015
Opening Night: Monday, November 23, 2015

Important Hats of the Twentieth Century spins the rip-roaring tale of Sam Greevy, the hottest fashion designer in 1930's New York... that is, until rival Paul Roms starts releasing strange but popular pieces like "sweatshirts," "tracksuits" and "skater pants." When Greevy's minions break into Roms's shady operation, they make a startling discovery that could explain from where - or should we say from when? - these avant-garde ensembles are coming. Soon, this rivalry turns into a battle for the very future of humankind, and more importantly, fashion!

Emmy nominated playwright Nick Jones ("Orange Is the New Black," The Coward, Trevor, Jollyship the Whiz-Bang) and acclaimed director Moritz Von Stuelpnagel (Hand to God, Verité) team up, for this whip-smart, epic, and utterly insane new comedy.

Important Hats of the Twentieth Century was part of MTC's Ernst C. Stifel Reading Series, a program dedicated to the support and development of innovative new work. Several plays developed in this reading series have gone on to full productions at MTC, including David Auburn's Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning Proof, Joe Hortua's Between Us, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa's Based on a Totally True Story, and Molly Smith Metzler's Close Up Space (Susan Smith Blackburn finalist).

The Studio at Stage II is Manhattan Theatre Club's initiative at New York City Center - Stage II (131 West 55th Street). This spring, as part of The Studio at Stage II, MTC will produce the world premiere of Heisenberg, the new play by Simon Stephens, directed by Mark Brokaw starring Mary-Louise Parker andKenneth Welsh.

Casting, creative team, and additional listings information for Important Hats of the Twentieth Century will be announced in the coming weeks.
