As BroadwayWorld reported earlier today, Stephanie J. Block, Christian Borle, and Andrew Rannells will head the cast of William Finn and James Lapine's Tony Award-winning musical FALSETTOS. Falsettos begins previews Thursday, September 29, and opens on Thursday, October 27 at the Walter Kerr Theatre (219 West 48 Street).
FALSETTOS, which won two Tony Awards for its score by William Finn and book by William Finn and James Lapine, combines the duo's 1981 musical March of the Falsettos with their 1990 sequel Falsettoland, to tell the story of a gay man named Marvin (to be played by Christian Borle), his lover Whizzer (to be played by Andrew Rannells), Marvin's wife Trina (to be played by Stephanie J. Block), and their extended family from the early '80s through the early days of the AIDS crisis.

STEPHANIE J. BLOCK's Broadway credits include The Mystery of Edwin Drood (Tony and Drama Desk award nominations), Reno Sweeney in the 2011 revival of Anything Goes, 9 to 5: The Musical (Drama Desk nomination), The Pirate Queen, The Boy From Oz (as Liza Minnelli opposite Hugh Jackman), and Wicked. Off-Broadway, she was nominated for Drama Desk Awards for her performances in Little Miss Sunshine and By The Way, Meet Vera Stark. She has sung with numerous symphony orchestras including the NY Pops at Carnegie Hall, Boston Pops, National Symphony Orchestra (under the baton of Marvin Hamlisch), Dallas Symphony, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Utah Symphony, Columbus Symphony, Charlotte Symphony, and the Cleveland Pops, among many others. Her solo album is titled This Place I Know.
CHRISTIAN BORLE returns to Lincoln Center Theater where he appeared in William Finn'sElegies: A Song Cycle. A two-time Tony Award winner for his performances in Something Rotten! and Peter and the Starcatcher, his other Broadway credits include Spamalot, Legally Blonde, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Mary Poppins, Amour, Footloose, andJesus Christ Superstar. His other New York credits include Angels in America (Signature Theatre), On the Town andLittle Me at City Center Encores!, and Sweeney Todd in Concert with the NY Philharmonic. Television: "Sweeney Todd" for PBS' Live from Lincoln Center, "Smash," "Masters of Sex," "The Good Wife," "Sofia the First," "Lucky Duck," "The Sound of Music Live!," and "Peter Pan Live!." ANDREW RANNELLS was nominated for a Tony Award for his breakout role as Elder Price in Broadway's smash hit musical The Book of Mormon, created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone. His other Broadway credits include playing King George in Hamilton, Hedwig in Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Bob Gaudio in Jersey Boys, and Link Larkin inHairspray. Rannells can currently be seen in HBO's hit series "Girls" from producers Lena Dunham and Judd Apatow which is currently in its 5th season. On the big screen, Rannells starred in The Intern alongside Robert DeNiro and Anne Hathaway and Bachelorette alongside Kirsten Dunst, Rebel Wilson and Lizzy Caplan. He will also be seen in Comedy Central's "Another Period" and the upcoming film, Why Him? starring Bryan Cranston and James Franco.
