The Goodman Theatre's buzzy world premiere WAR PAINT has enlisted one more Tony winner.

It was announced today that Tony-winning Broadway choreographer Christopher Gattelli has boarded the new musical's creative team, which will star stage legends Patti LuPone and Christine Ebersole.

WAR PAINT marks a return to the Goodman for Gattelli, who staged Mary Zimmerman's 2013 stage adaptation of Disney's THE JUNGLE BOOK. Previously, Gattelli won the 2012 Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for his work on Broadway's NEWSIES. His choreography can currently seen on the big screen in the Coen Brothers' HAIL, CAESAR!

Based upon Lindy Woodhead's book and the documentary THE POWDER & THE GLORY, WAR PAINT reunites the creative team behind the musical GREY GARDENS: composer Scott Frankel, lyricist Michael Korie, book writer Doug Wright, and director Michael Greif.

The musical runs June 28 - August 7, 2016 in the Goodman's 856-seat Albert Theatre. The production is officially set to open on Monday, July 18.

Per press notes, "War Paint tells the story of cosmetics titans Helena Rubinstein (LuPone) and Elizabeth Arden (Ebersole), who defined beauty standards for the first half of the 20th Century. Brilliant innovators with humble roots, both women were masters of self-invention who sacrificed everything to become the country's first major female entrepreneurs. They were also fierce competitors, whose 50-year tug-of-war would give birth to an industry. From Fifth Avenue society to the halls of Congress, their remarkable rivalry was ruthless, relentless and legendary-pushing both women to build international empires in a world dominated by men."

In addition to Newsies, Christopher Gattelli's Broadway choreography credits include The King and I (Tony Award nomination), Amazing Grace, South Pacific (Tony and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations), Sunday in the Park with George, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, Godspell, The Ritz, Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me, 13, High Fidelity and the upcoming SpongeBob the Musical. National and international tour credits include Newsies, Altar Boyz, Godspell, Grease and Pooh's Perfect Day (world premiere by Disney Theatricals).
