On Wednesday, July 20th, the Theater People podcast welcomes three-time Tony Award-nominee, Christopher Fitzgerald.

Fitzgerald began working professionally in New York Theater in the late 1990s. His early work includes roles in the controversial Terrance McNally play CORPUS CHRISTI and the Broadway production of AMOUR.

In 2003, Fitzgerald originated the role of Boq in the smash hit WICKED, before going on to earn Tony Award nominations for his work in YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN and FINIAN'S RAINBOW. This season he is back on Broadway in the Sarah Bareilles musical Waitress in the role of Oogie. He earned his third Tony Award nomination for this performance.

For this episode, Fitzgerald talks about the controversial CORPUS CHRISTI, being a part of the now iconic original cast of WICKED, why YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN failed to find an audience, and the process of finding a way in to his character in Waitress.
