THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY National Tour Announces Itinerary; See Where It All Began!

The national tour of THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY, winner of the 2014 Tony Award for Best Original Score and Best Orchestrations, has announced its initial itinerary, launching in Des Moines, IA at the Des Moines Civic Center, with performances beginning Saturday, November 28th and an official opening on Tuesday, December 1st. Based on one of the most romantic stories ever written, THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY will travel to more than 15 cities in its first season, with additional cities to be announced.

The critically acclaimed musical of THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY features one of Broadway's most accomplished creative teams with music and lyrics by three-time Tony Award-winning composer JASON ROBERT BROWN (Parade, The Last Five Years), book by Pulitzer Prize-winning writer MARSHA NORMAN (The Secret Garden, The Color Purple, 'night, Mother), and led by the Tony Award-winning director BARTLETT SHER (South Pacific, The King and I, The Light in the Piazza).

The team also includes scenic design by two-time Tony Award-winner MICHAEL YEARGAN (The Light in the Piazza, South Pacific), costume design by five-time Tony Award-winner CATHERINE ZUBER (South Pacific, The Light in the Piazza, The Coast of Utopia), lighting design by two-time Tony Award-winner DONALD HOLDER (South Pacific, The Lion King), sound design by JON WESTON, orchestrations by JASON ROBERT BROWN, and movement by DANNY MEFFORD.

Casting for the national tour of THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY will be announced soon.

The Broadway cast featured Tony winner Kelli O'Hara as Francesca Johnson and 2014 Drama Desk nominee, stage and screen vet Steven Pasquale as Robert Kincaid.

Also featured were Hunter Foster as Bud Johnson, Cass Morgan as Marge, Michael X. Martin as Charlie, Caitlin Kinnunen as Carolyn, Derek Klena as Michael, as well as Whitney Bashor, Jennifer Allen, Ephie Aardema, Katie Klaus, Luke Marinkovich, Aaron Ramey, Dan Sharkey, Tim Wright, Jessica Vosk, Charlie Franklin, and Kevin Kern.

THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY is based on the best selling novel by Robert James Waller and tells the unforgettable story of two people caught between decision and desire, as a chance encounter becomes a second chance at so much more.

THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY closed on Broadway May 18, 2014, having played 137 performances. We can't wait for it to bring its magic across the country!
