Hello everyone, and welcome back to my blog! Since Thanksgiving was yesterday, I want to take this moment to recognize all of the theatre-related things we have to be grateful for this year.

Firstly and most importantly, we should be thankful for our fellow actors and creatives. You have taken a bit of creativity from anyone whom you have ever worked with. Without an ensemble, we cannot have a show. Creating together is the strongest way to create.

The best thing we should be thankful for is teachers who have inspired us. Our art teachers have nurtured our creativity and turned us into the creators that we are today. They have taught us the techniques we need in order to make art, and for that we should forever be grateful. I also want to take a moment to mention our non-artist teachers too. These are anyone from English teachers to math teachers who came to see our shows and helped give us the knowledge we use as a background for our creativity. They also helped nurture us into the people we are today and encouraged us to have the bold personalities we have developed over time with them.

I also want to be thankful for the opportunity to create work itself. Many people do not have the resources to create the art they want, and we should be extra grateful that we have the ability to make art that is meaningful to us. There are places where people cannot make or do shows that mean something to them, and we should be thankful that we have the space to be creative individuals who can make bold choices, and make art with messages that inspire other people.

Next, I think we should be thankful for any creative team who has taken a chance on us. They saw something in us and decided to take a chance by letting us work on their show. Without these people, we would not have the ability to make the art we hold so dear. These people give us opportunities and create spaces for us to share stories that are meaningful to us.

Finally, I think we should be thankful to our family and friends. This may not seem theatre-related initially, but without their support, we wouldn’t have the opportunities or the confidence to do what we do. They come to our shows and support us. They let us bounce ideas off of them and they help us learn our lines. They want us to succeed and want to be there to help. Without these people, we have no community.

That wraps up my list, so I just have one final thing to say: This is your sign to thank your nearest supporter. You should let them know how appreciated they are because without these people, we have no art. Have a great holiday, and make sure to spread the love. That’s all for now. Sending you good vibes and wishing you good food!
