YouTube user 'ZebraGal' has put a new heartfelt and honest twist on FROZEN's hit song 'Let It Go' - a version of the number with altered lyrics to reflect her journey to "coming to terms with an ASD - Autism Spectrum Disorder - diagnosis." Check out her rendition, which has gotten attention from co-writer Kristen Lopez, below!
As she described the video herself: "This is a cover of "Let it Go" from Frozen, but with changed lyrics to reflect how I feel about finally getting and coming to terms with an ASD - Autism Spectrum Disorder - diagnosis. It also goes out to everyone on the AS spectrum, especially the girls, and especially the girls that weren't diagnosed until adulthood. This song reflects mostly how I felt growing up - being stared at when I had a bad meltdown, people not understanding me, etc - though most of it still applies to my life now. I hope it's relatable to other Aspies/Auties! I'm not a professional singer or pianist, so please no hate! I'm well aware that I was often pitchy, haha. Also, I wrote, practiced, and filmed this song in only a couple hours, so be nice! =P"
With a stage adapation in the wings, FROZEN's soundtrack just became the longest-running No. 1 film soundtracksince 2003. The movie has passed THE LION KING as Disney's highest-grossing animated film to date, with $865 million worldwide. It has been nominated for a slew of awards this season, including the Oscar for Best Original Song. FROZEN just won four 2014 Annie Awards, as well as the Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature Film, and the ACE Eddie Award for Best Edited Animated Feature.
