Riverdale Y Hosts The Second Annual Carrick On The Hudson

Celebrate an evening of Irish heritage, at the Riverdale Y, located at 5625 Arlington Avenue in the northwest Bronx on Saturday, March 7 at 8:00pm. Tickets are $20 general admission, $15 seniors/students and $10 for Simon Senior Center members and can be purchased at www.RiverdaleY.org.  Directions to the Y are also on the website.  There is ample free parking in the Riverdale Y’s private lot.

The evening will feature the renowned NYC Irish Band Celtic Cross. Those who have been around Celtic music in the Northeast and in the NYC area are no strangers to Celtic Cross. Making each performance an event, Celtic Cross is an entertaining musical experience not to be missed. Special guests include Irish Actress/Comedian Fiona Walsh, with appearances by the Flynn School of Irish, Dance, The Woodlawn House of Irish Music and more.

Carrick is the gaelic term for “rock” and often refers to an Irish town on the banks of a river.   In this case – Riverdale!

The Riverdale YM-YWHA is a Jewish Community Center which has been serving the Bronx since 1909.  Located along the Hudson River in the northwest corner of the Bronx, the Riverdale Y is a multi-generational community service agency providing informal education, physical education, leisure activities, and social services.  The Y houses a state-of-the-art fitness center, indoor pool, and departments concentrating on Early Childhood Education, After-School, theater, film, dance, music, visual arts, and senior adults
