Remix Edition of HERE LIES LOVE Cast Recording to Benefit Philippines Charity

Todomundo! is set to release The Remix Collection from Here Lies Love, featuring reimaginings of the music from David Byrne and Fatboy Slim's off-Broadway hit, on September 30, preorder it today here. A collection of 14 tracks remixed by Matt Stine and Justin Levine, all proceeds will be donated to Gawad Kalinga, a charity dedicated to typhoon relief and ending poverty in the Philippines for 5 million families by 2024. The album will be available at Here Lies Love performances at The Public Theater in New York and Dorfman Theater in London as well as via the Here Lies Love website, DavidByrne.com and other outlets.

After being asked to remix music from the show for in-theater use, Stine created a full song-cycle of remixes, using music from the show and the cast album, released earlier this year, alongside the originally released all-star album featuring Santigold, Florence Welch (Florence + The Machine), Sia, Steve Earle, St. Vincent, Natalie Merchant, Tori Amos, Sharon Jones, Nicole Atkins, and many others singing the show's roles. After hearing the music, Byrne decided to release the full cycle of remixes to the public.

Byrne collaborated with director Alex Timbers (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson) to bring the music to the stage. Ruthie Ann Miles' starring performance was praised as "striking" by New York magazine, "magnetic, sexy and poignant" by the New York Post, and "vivid and haunting" by the New York Daily News. Entertainment Weekly declares "not only does [Miles] have a lovely, dynamic set of pipes, but she also infuses the first lady with just the right amount of strength and sensitivity." Miles earned a Theatre World Award for her performance.
