Yesterday, May 23, more than 2,500 employees, friends and benefactors of New York Hospital Queens celebrated the extraordinary contributions of entrepreneur Eugene M. Lang, who created diverse manufacturing enterprises, participated in trade and economic policy missions for the U.S. and is nationally heralded for his philanthropic endeavors in education and health care. New York Hospital Queens honored him for his longstanding service and support of the hospital.
Mr. Lang, together with his late wife, Theresa, has enhanced the quality and depth of service provided to the community with the establishment of both the Theresa and Eugene M. Lang Center for Research and Education and the Theresa Lang Children's Ambulatory Care Center.
The 2011 A Spring Night Gala benefit was held last night and included a live, private, performance by legendary entertainer and Grammy Award winner, Patti LaBelle. Proceeds from the fundraising event are critical to the hospital's ability to expand services in the fast-growing Queens community.
