PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICAL to Feature In Display At Planet Hollywood Image

A new display has opened at Planet Hollywood Times Square (1540 Broadway) honoring the late director Garry Marshall, which features special artifacts from the original workshop of the Broadway hit Pretty Woman: THE MUSICAL, now playing to sold out crowds at Broadway's Nederlander Theatre (208 W 41st Street). These artifacts include Garry Marshall's blue script binder he used on every film, his notebook from the first workshop and reading of Pretty Woman: THE MUSICAL, and the original A-camera slate from the Pretty Woman film, among other items. This special display will remain open until September 2019.

The full display will include:

  • Garry's blue script binder that he used on every film, with film titles embossed on the inside.
  • Garry's orange notebook from the first reading of Pretty Woman: THE MUSICAL.
  • The entire shooting script for 3000, the original title for Pretty Woman. The title changed during post-production after it was completely edited. Also included is the page of the final scene where Vivian says "She rescues him right back", with a note Garry made in the spine that says "use umbrella."
  • The original A-Camera slate from the movie.
  • Title page of Pretty Woman: THE MUSICAL, from the first workshop with Garry's notes.

PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICAL has original music and lyrics by Grammy Award winner Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance, a book by Garry Marshall and the film's screenwriter J.F. Lawton, and direction and choreography by two-time Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell.

PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICAL stars Samantha Barks as 'Vivian' opposite three-time Tony Award nominee and Laurence Olivier Award winner Andy Karl (Groundhog Day, Rocky) as 'Edward,' with Tony Award nominee Orfeh (Legally Blonde) as 'Kit,' Eric Anderson (Waitress) as 'Mr. Thompson,' Jason Danieley (The Full Monty) as 'Philip Stuckey,' and Kingsley Leggs (Sister Act) as 'James Morse' in a company of 25 that includes Allison Blackwell, Tommy Bracco, Brian Calì, Robby Clater, Max Clayton, Jessica Crouch, Nico DeJesus, Anna Eilinsfeld, Matt Farcher, Lauren Lim Jackson, Renée Marino, Ellyn Marie Marsh, Jillian Mueller, Shannon Mullen, Jake Odmark, Jennifer Sanchez, Matthew Stocke, Alex Michael Stoll, Alan Wiggins, Jesse Wildman Foster and Darius Wright.
