Oleg Frish Comes to The Triad Theater One Night Only

Oleg Frish, the colorful and personable singer, is touring the U.S. in 2018 in a show titled Swing Around The World. Known as the "Human Jukebox" and a "Songapedia" because of his encyclopedic knowledge of music of the 1940-80 era, Oleg Frish is an entertaining and charming singer who performs swing classics, jazz standards, tunes from the rock & roll and disco eras, and songs from his native Russia. He not only sings in English and Russian but occasionally in Spanish, Italian, French, Ukrainian, Japanese, German, Swedish, Polish and Yiddish, swinging all the time.

Always utilizing top-notch jazz musicians, Oleg Frish puts on concerts that are very positive and full of happiness. The love and affection that he has for the songs that he sings is obvious and is quite infectious, both in concert and on his recent CD With My American Idols which features memorable collaborations with Connie Francis, Ben E. King, Bobby Rydell, Melissa Manchester, Tony Orlando, Lainie Kazan, B.J. Thomas, Gary U.S. Bonds, Peggy March, Chris Montez and Lou christie.

Oleg Frish was born in the USSR where his mother was a pianist and his father was the head of the Seagull Choir. Oleg loved music from an early age and, by the time he was a teenager, knew the lyrics of over 15,000 songs. Due to his extraordinary memory skills, he was featured on two popular psychic shows (Miracles Do Not Exist and I Simply Read Your Thoughts) in Russia during 1979-92. He also wrote for Soviet Variety and Circus Magazine about music and theatre, earned a degree in the History of Variety and Cultural Arts, and went on tours lecturing about the history of show business. He made his recording debut in 1991 with his album Hello From Brighton. His second CD, Strange Love, was released in 1998 and his first English language album Bring Me Sunshine (which features arrangements by Patrick Williams) came out in 2010.

In 1992, Oleg Frish moved to New York City. He became the writer and host of the television series Walking The Streets Of Moscow, developing a career as an interviewer, a television and radio celebrity, and a genial host. He hosted such long-running radio shows as The Music Hour With Oleg Frish and Standard Time With Oleg Frish, the celebrity news television program Time Out (2005-11) which ran for 121 episodes, and his current show The Friday Night. On these programs, Oleg has interviewed literally thousands of major stars. The recording of the very well-received CD Oleg Frish With My American Idols gave him an opportunity to sing with some of the artists who he had previously interviewed. During the past five years, Oleg has sung in many venues from coast to coast including the Metropolitan Room, Joe's Pub, Catalina Jazz Club in Hollywood, Denver's St. Petersburg Night Club, and the Marco Polo Cabaret Room in Miami.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of his move to the United States, Oleg Frish will be bringing Swing Around The World to The Triad Theater on Saturday, May 19th at 7pm.
