NEXT TO NORMAL Star Tveit Guests on CW's 'GOSSIP GIRL' 3/23

Next to Normal star Aaron Tveit will guest star on the Monday, March 23 episode of "Gossip Girl." Tveit plays Tripp Vanderbilt, the cousin of Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford). "Gossip Girl" airs at 8:00p.m. on The CW (channel 11 in NYC).

Next to Normal begins preview performances on Friday, March 27 at Broadway's Booth Theatre (222 West 45th Street).Tickets are available online through Telecharge.com and by phone at 212-239-6200.

Aaron Tveit has received Helen Hayes and Lucille Lortel award nominations for his portrayal of Gabe in the Second Stage and Arena Stage productions of Next to Normal. Also starring Alice Ripley, J. Robert Spencer, Jennifer Damiano, Adam Chanler-Berat, and Louis Hobson, Next to Normal features music by Tom Kitt and book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey. Directed by Michael Greif (Rent, Grey Gardens), the musical begins previews on Friday, March 27 and officially opens on April 15. Next to Normal is produced by David Stone, James L. Nederlander, Barbara Whitman, Patrick Catullo, and Second Stage Theatre.

Next to Normal opened at Off-Broadway's Second Stage Theatre on February 13, 2008 and was significantly reworked in a subsequent out-of-town run at Washington D.C.'s Arena Stage, where it opened on December 10, 2008. The musical's unusual trajectory from a New York Off-Broadway premiere to an out-of-town regional theatre engagement and then back to Broadway is unprecedented.

In his review of the Arena Stage production, Peter Marks of The Washington Post, wrote, "Next to Normal is a moving, blisteringly honest, and inordinately powerful new musical, sung with a wallop by a six-member cast that includes the astonishing Alice Ripley, and dexterously directed by Michael Greif.
