In the coming weeks, Broadwayworld.com will be profiling some of TRUE Model Management's models in our "Model Spotlight." We asked Christina Maldari to tell us a little about her fashion career. Stay tuned to Broadwayworld.com to learn about other top models.

What was your first modeling experience?

My modeling career began in the showroom for a major Jeanswear company in NYC. I modeled multiple lines during their market weeks and have been with the company ever since!

What has inspired your modeling career?

My family, particularly my mother. She always encourages me to conquer my dreams and confidently pursue my career of choice. I have always loved fashion and to be an integral part of the making and selling of clothing is so wonderful.

Who are some of your mentors in the business?

My managers at TRUE Model Management have guided me from day one. They have been a great, supportive team and always available for advice.

Tell us about one of your favorite modeling experiences.

Every day I come to work I feel so appreciated and respected. My coworkers are kind and a pleasure to work with! Being in the showroom is my favorite facet of modeling because I can interact with the buyers, salespeople and fashion designers and I truly feel a part of the team!

What are some of your favorite fashion trends?

Since I predominately work in the Jeanswear market, I see trends emerging for different fabrics and designs in bottoms. I love the different textures and the soft hand of suede for comfort. I think the high-waisted flare trend is very flattering.

What would you like to do in the future in your career?

I would like to build my knowledge on fit and fabrication of clothing and continue as a fitting and showroom model. I believe these areas are my strengths and I cannot wait to see what the future holds!

What advice would you give others who wish to have a modeling career?

I would suggest contacting TRUE Model Management. They will be honest and mentor you to your full potential. If one plans on becoming a model, it is important to be diligent about your career. Be professional, personable and knowledgeable. Stay current with fashion, be positive, confident, healthy, and enjoy yourself!
