Broadway’s ultimate tale of mothers and daughters, ambition and fame, and the lengths we’ll go in pursuit of the American dream. GYPSY is suggested by the memoirs of Gypsy Rose Lee and features a book by Tony Award Winner Arthur Laurents, music by Tony and Academy Award Winner Jule Styne, and lyrics by Tony, Grammy, Academy Award and Pulitzer Prize Winner Stephen Sondheim, choreography by four-time Tony Award nominated Camille A. Brown, music direction and supervision by Andy Einhorn, and additional orchestrations and arrangements by Tony Award winner Daryl Waters.

Audra McDonald - Mama RoseAudra McDonald is unparalleled in the breadth and versatility of her artistry as both a singer and an actor. The winner of a record-breaking six Tony Awards, two Grammy Awards and an Emmy, in 2015 she was named one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people and received a National Medal of Arts—America’s highest honor for achievement in the field—from President Barack Obama. In addition to her Tony-winning performances in Carousel, Master Class, Ragtime, A Raisin in the Sun, The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess and Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill—the role that also served as the vehicle for her Olivier Award-nominated 2017 debut in London’s West End—she has appeared on Broadway in The Secret Garden; Marie Christine (Tony nomination); Henry IV; 110 in the Shade (Tony nomination); Shuffle Along, or, The Making of the Musical Sensation of 1921 and All That Followed; and Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune (Tony nomination). Joy Woods - LouiseJoy Woods most recently starred as Middle Allie in The Notebook on Broadway. Woods originated the role at the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre and received The Joseph Jefferson Award for Performer in a Supporting Role – Musical for her performance. Previously, Woods made her Broadway debut as Catherine Parr in Six: The Musical. In 2023, Woods starred as Martha Mills in the Off-Broadway revival of I Can Get it For You Wholesale. The production won the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for Outstanding Revival of a Musical. Woods made her Off-Broadway debut in 2019, originating the role of Chiffon in the Off-Broadway revival of Little Shop of Horrors. She then returned to the show in 2023 as Audrey. Mylinda Hull - Miss ElectraMYLINDA HULL has been part of New York theatre for over 25 years. After making her Broadway debut as Anytime Annie in the Tony Award-winning revival of 42nd Street (OBC), she continued on Broadway to play opposite such luminaries as Christina Applegate in Sweet Charity (OBC), Jonathan Pryce in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Nathan Lane in The Nance (OBC), and Billy Crystal in Mr. Saturday Night (OBC). She played Lola opposite Jerry Lewis in the National Tour of Damn Yankees. Off-Broadway she recently played Mona Bland in the Jason Robert Brown, Jonathan Marc Sherman and Daisy Prince helmed musical The Connector at MCC. Hunter Capellán - EnsembleHunter Capellán is very excited to be a part of Gypsy at Majestic Theater. His latest work was at the 97th Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade in The Deliciously Delectable World of Wonka skit. Hunter studies dance at Broadway Dance Center in New York City, and he loves being a 7th grader at Achievement First Bushwick Middle School. Hunter’s most enjoyable subject is history and favorite dance styles are Tap and Hip-Hop. He is motivated and inspired by his older sister, Jayla, who is training to dance professionally. When he’s not dancing or in school Hunter enjoys playing basketball and running track.
