The Mad Fashionista will return to the Manhattan Vintage Show on October 10 & 11.

Elisa DeCarlo, aka The Mad Fashionista, returns to the Manhattan Vintage Show with a collection of plus-sized vintage clothing. Featuring evening gowns, fur coats, cashmere sweaters and more, the Mad Fashionista's Plus Size Boutique has items starting at size 12 and up.

Elisa, her comic blog (also called "Diary Of A Mad Fashionista") and her show of the same name were profiled in the February 28 Styes Section of The New York Times by Eric Wilson.

If you want a real thrilling treat with a twist, come visit with the plus size Internet diva feared throughout the world of style, The Mad Fashionista. Assisting her will be up and coming plus-size designer Crystal Aponte, who is designing the Fashionista's dress for the first day. (Don't fret, the Fashionista will have on vintage accessories.) She might even snag and rag on the random celebrities roaming the pavilion. Have your photo snapped with her, and find out Mad Fashionista's future plans.

About Elisa DeCarlo

ELISA DECARLO's two-person 'tour-de-farce' Diary of A Mad Fashionista was her second appearance in the New York Frigid Festival.  Besides The New York Times and Glamour.com, the show received a great deal of attention both on and off the Internet, including interviews with Judith Regan on radio and elasticwaist.com's "Daily Special."  Since then she, her alter-ego and her plus-size vintage have  been featured on The Vintage Shopping Guide (www.vintageshoppingguide.com), Bust Magazine's recent Fashion issue, A Dress A Day (http://www.dressaday.com), and Backstage magazine.  She was also seen this month on "The Today Show," in a segment about reality television.

In January DeCarlo also performed as the Mad Fashionista at the Broadway Comedy Club, hosting a charity benefit for Comedy Cures, along with media personality Valerie Smaldone.   Last year her blog was quoted in The New York Times in an article about skinny collarbones.  DeCarlo's 2007 solo show, Pointless Rebellion, premiered at the debut New York Frigid Festival. Elisa has performed in several San Francisco Fringe Festivals from 1995-2005, DIVAfest at the Exit in 2003, The New York Fringe Festival in 1997 and Solopalooza in Chicago in 1997. Her solo show Toasted, a true-crime story, has won awards across the country (including Best of the Fest in the 2004 Midtown Theater Festival and Best Female Solo Performance at the 2001 SF Fringe). Other solo shows include Cervix With A Smile (2005 Bay Guardian Critic's Choice Award), and Size Matters (Westbeth Theater Center).   DeCarlo and Austin Pendleton read her two-character drama Buddy n' Janice at HBO. http://diaryofamadfashionista.blogspot.com
