BroadwayWorld has confirmed that understudy Leeds Hill is on this afternoon as the Emcee in Cabaret, filling in for a sick Alan Cumming, who is hoping to return to the show tonight.
Last night's preview performance of Cabaret was cancelled due to Alan Cumming, who plays the Emcee, being ill. Since the show is only in its first week of performances, Cumming's understudy had not yet been rehearsed.
Hill, who along with understudying Cumming, also plays Bobby and Two Ladies Dancer in the show, recently played Neleus in the National Tour of Mary Poppins. He holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from CCM. Credits include Hanna in La Cage aux Folles (North Shore Music Theatre), Dickon (US/Performed) in The Secret Garden (Stages St. Louis), Irving Berlin's White Christmas (Paper Mill Playhouse), Heat Wave: The Jack Cole Project(Queens Theatre in the Park). This will be his Broadway Debut.

This is a 24-week limited engagement.
CABARET features a book by Joe Masteroff, music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb. It is based on the play by John Van Druten and stories by Christopher Isherwood.
The cast features two time Tony nominee Linda Emond as Fraulein Schneider, four time Tony nominee Danny Burstein as Herr Schultz, Bill Heck as Cliff, Aaron Krohn as Ernst and Gayle Rankin as Fraulein Kost, co-directed by Academy Award-winner Sam Mendes (director) and Academy Award nominee Rob Marshall (co-director/choreographer).The Cabaret Kit Kat Klub boys & girls are: Will Carlyon, Kaleigh Cronin, Caleb Damschroder, Benjamin Eakeley, Andrea Goss, Leeds Hill, Kristin Olness, Kelly Paredes, Jessica Pariseau, Dylan Paul, Jane Pfitsch, Evan Siegel, and Stacey Sipowicz.
The design team includes set and club design by Robert Brill, costume design by William Ivey Long, lighting design by Peggy Eisenhauer and Mike Baldassari and sound design by Brian Ronan. Patrick Vaccariello is the Musical Director. CABARET features some of the best-known songs in musical theatre, including "Willkommen," "Maybe This Time" and "Cabaret." John Kander and Fred Ebb are two of the most successful and prolific collaborators in the American Theatre and are currently represented on Broadway with the award-winning revival of Chicago.
