Inside Broadway's Executive Director Michael Presser is pleased to announce that this year, Inside Broadway will honor 2013 Tony Award nominees Laura Osnes (Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella) and Condola Rashad (The Trip to the Bountiful) as well as Alan L. Bain, Chairman of The American-Scottish Foundation, at their Broadway Beacon Awards on Monday, June 17 at Joe's Pub at 7pm (there is also a cocktail reception before the awards ceremony).
Model, philanthropist and Broadway star Christie Brinkley is serving as Honorary Chair for the event which is held annually to support Inside Broadway's mission of bringing the joys of theatre to New York City's under-served public school students. The evening will be hosted by FOX5 entertainment reporter Anna Gilligan, and entertainment will include students from JHS 278 in Brooklyn who are members of the Inside Broadway school arts program.
"We are so thrilled to be honoring these remarkably talented individuals for their contributions to New York and the theater...the Broadway Beacon Awards is always a wonderful way for us to end the theater season and this year is no exception" says Inside Broadway Executive Director Michael Presser.
Inside Broadway was established in 1982 by Michael Presser. Today, Inside Broadway reaches over 30,000 New York City students each year and develops and produces touring equity musical productions as well as a wide range of educational programs that allow participants to interact with professionals in the field and experience theatre hands-on in the classroom.
