Lampanelli Talks Theatre Training & SKINNY B*TCH

Ribald comedienne Lisa Lampanelli is taking to the stage in a new one-woman play - titled SKINNY B*TCH: NOT A STAND-UP COMEDY SHOW, directed by John Rando - throughout the country on a tryout tour and the outrageous raconteur discusses the new show and her current theatre training in general as part of a new interview.

Lampanelli recently attended some classes at Yale as a means to hone her craft prior to her big Broadway bow and she states of the inspiration behind it, "I applied because I'm doing a Broadway show next year and I felt I should know something about acting... I pulled a James Franco move. You know how he takes classes at Yale so he can be serious and wants to learn? Well, I pretended I was serious and wanted to learn, so they let me in. I thought it would be just plain acting classes, but you have to take movement."

Always ready with a punch-line, the stand-up star follows up with, "The biggest thing I could ever move is my bowels, and that's about it."

Additionally, Lampanelli sheds some light on what we can expect from the upcoming one-woman show aiming for Broadway next year.

"I don't share that stage. I even said in acting class, 'I have to work with other people? Why don't we make everyone else's monologue about me?' The Broadway show is me, me, me. I'm meeting with John Rando today. He's directing," Lampanelli recounts, as was originally reported by BroadwayWorld here.

As for the title of the show, the raucous comedy headliner says, "[W]e're tentatively calling it Lisa Lampanelli: Skinny B*tch, but I want to call it Lisa Lampanelli's Not A Fat C*nt Anymore. That's too long to fit on the marquee, though."
