Kidz Theater is dedicated to helping young performers to reach their professional performing arts goals by providing free performance opportunities in Manhattan. Their performers have Broadway, Off-Broadway, Film and other professional credits!
The following is an update of what is happening.
Auditions just wrapped for "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat". The cast list is up on the web at www.kidztheater.org! The cast includes Brianna Gentillela who was in the Broadway production of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" in 2006/2007 and 2007/2008!
Kidz Theater will be applying for the rights to "The Wiz" which will perform July 30-August 9th at the Connelly Theatre in Manhattan. Auditions will take place in mid-June and rehearsals will begin late June. Just since Summer 2008, they have had some great success stories! They are as follows:Amari Rose Leigh (Seussical Jr. 08, Disney's The Jungle Book Kids 08) just began rehearsals for Broadway's "Joe Turner's Come and Gone" at the Lincoln Center TheatreJuliette Allen Angelo (Kidz Theater Workshops 08) has been in Broadway's "Billy Elliot" since the show opened this past summer! Juliette also performed in Broadway's "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" in the 2007-2008 production!
Lina Silver (Once on this Island Jr. 08) has begun rehearsing for the Lincoln Center Theatre's Off Broadway production of "Happiness" directed by Susan Stroman! She was also in the pre-Broadway production of "A Christmas Story- The Musical".
Sydney Richardson (Seussical Jr. 08) is currently performing in the "Annie" National Tour!
Hallie Richardson (Seussical Jr. 08) just completed the National Tour of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas"!
Rachel Filsoof (Seussical Jr. 08, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat 09) performed with Alicia Keyes at the Democratic National Convention! She also was in original tour of "High School Musical 2". Catch Rachel as one of the Narrators in this April's produciton of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat".
Bridget Meghan Clark (Schoolhouse Rock Live, Jr.) recently performed along side Meryl Streep, Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams in this November's hit Feature Film release, "Doubt", based on John Patrick Shanley's play.
