According to Deadline, FOX has just purchased options on a new dance drama series titled "Shine" to be produced by Marc Platt ('La La Land', Wicked) and Duane Adler (Step Up).

Adler will serve as writer and executive producer on the series, which will follow three women within a Las Vegas dynasty family through various stages of their dance careers as their family's reputation topples.

Marc Platt Productions (Marc Platt and Adam Siegel) will executive produce.

Deadline previously reported that FOX has also given a script commitment plus penalty to ADAM & EVA, described as a "modern-day Adam and Eve" story based on a Dutch television series. The project is from Tony winner Steven Levenson (DEAR EVAN HANSEN) and LA LA LAND producer Marc Platt, as well as Scripted World and 20th Century FOX TV.

Penned by Levenson, the story will center on "Adam and Eva, two unique souls in New York City drawn together by fate. Both struggle with feelings of isolation heightened by living in a city with 8.5 million people."

The project marks a reunion for Levenson and Platt. Levenson is currently writing the book for Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig's upcoming movie musical which will be produced by Platt. In addition, Levenson penned the book for the hit Broadway musical Dear Evan Hansen, which stars Platt's talented son, Ben. The writer picked up a Tony Award back in June.
