I decided to choose a look from Sunday night's Emmy Awards that I am still on the fence about: Kerry Washington. Washington, usually one of my go-to fashionistas, chose a very romantic Marchesa gown. Washington said in one of her red carpet interviews that she knew it was the one after seeing it as the finale dress in Marchesa's S/S 2014 runway show. Wait wasn't that like two weeks ago? Wow, nothing like leaving things until last minute.
At first I didn't really like this dress. I wasn't a fan of the ribbon criss crossing her middle with the flowers and the palette of white and gold. It felt too fairy godmother like to me. But then, the more I looked at it, the more I liked it. It's soft and feminine with a touch of subtle sexiness. Washington's makeup and hair was understated glamour and I loved her box clutch. I am changing my opinion from on the fence to liking it. I am not wowed or blown away but she looks very very pretty.
Check out the picture below from the Marchesa S/S 2014 runway as well. I like the way Washington fills it out so much better!
