Reese Witherspoon looked perfectly chic at The Colleagues' 26th Annual Spring Luncheon this week in Los Angeles. Witherspoon wore an Oscar de la Renta that to me epitomizes a "ladies who lunch" dress. I can't explain what that means in great detail other than you know one when you see one. For me, a "ladies who lunch" dress is feminine but not precious, sophisticated but not edgy, classic but not stuffy, embellished but not showy. And really, who better to make a "ladies who lunch dress" than Oscar de la Renta?
I think the fit and flare shape of this dress really complements Witherspoon's figure. Plus the fuller skirt is fun with a touch of sass. And I am dying over the blue and green print. It is so rich and lush and feels royal. Witherspoon finished her look off with neutral sandals, a deep green clutch and a gold cuff to add a modern touch. This is the kind of outfit I not only wish I had, but wished I had an important luncheon to wear it to!
