DEAR EVAN HANSEN Virtual Choir Nominated For A Webby Award

It was announced today that Broadway's Dear Evan Hansen has been nominated for a Webby Award for Best Social Video in the Arts & Entertainment Category for its impressive "You Will Be Found" virtual choir.

One voice can make a difference. Thousands can make a choir. In honor of its one-year anniversary on Broadway, Tony Award-winning musical Dear Evan Hansen created Broadway's first-ever Virtual Choir.

From Japan to Norway, fans from 31 countries around the world lent their hearts and talent to the "You Will Be Found" Virtual Choir, undeniably proving that every voice matters. This video, seen by over 1.2 million people and counting, poignantly encapsulates the show's message and celebrates the highly engaged online community that has formed from people who have been "found" by this musical.

The Virtual Choir was crafted from an overwhelming pool of user-generated video submissions and consultation from Alex Lacamoire (music supervision/orchestrations) and Nevin Steinberg (sound design) to help to make the choir sing.

Established in 1996 during the Web's infancy, The Webbys is presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS)-a 2000+ member judging body. The Academy is comprised of Executive Members-leading Web experts, business figures, luminaries, visionaries and creative celebrities-and Associate Members who are former Webby Winners, Nominees and other Internet professionals.

The Webby Awards presents two honors in every category-The Webby Award and The Webby People's Voice Award.
