Cirque du Soleil and MSG Entertainemnt are set to announce the show name and creative details of the new Cirque du Soleil “vaudeville-inspired” production, which will premiere at the Beacon Theatre in February 2010.  15 performers will present a very first ever sneak peek performance.

Written and directed by David Shiner, this new production from Cirque du Soleil will present a contemporary twist on Vaudeville by infusing this classic form of theatre with a modern flair. The show will feature short, fast-paced performances of comic variety fused with innovative choreography and dance styles. Shiner is the writer and director of the Cirque du Soleil big top touring show KOOZA, which premiered in 2007 and is currently touring the US. He also created the two-man show “Fool Moon” with Bill Irwin, which ran on Broadway in the 1990s and won a special Tony Award for Live Theatrical Presentation in 1999, a Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatrical Experience and an Outer Critics Circle Special Achievement Award.
