Starting in January 2009, Daryl Eisenberg (CSA), Casting Associate for the hit TV show Gossip Girl, and casting director for the Off-Broadway productions of Altar Boyz, My First Time, and The Awesome 80's Prom, will be offering a four-week intensive master class for actors focused on TV audition technique and episodic casting.
Eisenberg welcomes actors of all backgrounds and experience levels, who will all have the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of television casting first hand from a leading industry professional. An in depth review of the different types of television auditions and using actual audition sides in scene work are two of the main components of the class, and participants can also expect the chance to review their resumes and discuss theatre and film auditions. The four-week program will culminate in a mock audition with a special guest agent in attendance.
"My goal is to answer all the mysterious questions that actors are afraid to ask, and teach actors things they won't learn in a regular acting class," says Eisenberg. "Actors will end their four weeks having confidence in their ability to analyze, prepare, and audition a scene, and will no longer be intimidated by the person behind the table. They will have the skills and knowledge to give their very best possible audition."
The class is currently open for enrollment, with two evening sessions to choose from, Wednesdays (first meeting 1/14) and Thursdays (first meeting 1/15). The cost of the entire four week program is $399.
