The weather's not the only thing that's been heating up the Altarena Playhouse lately. Final rehearsals for our production of Tennessee Williams' white-hot drama A Streetcar Named Desire are underway, and it looks like there will be more than a few sparks onstage when the show opens next Friday, May 8th and runs until June 7th. Tickets for this Sue Trigg-directed show cast $20 (general admission), and $17 (students under 18 and seniors 62+). Tickets can be purchased online at http://www.altarena.org/ or by phone at 510-523-1552 (1:00 - 6:00pm, Tuesdays - Saturdays).

The cast is as follows:

Eunice Hubbell..... Karol Loque
Neighbor, Flower Seller, Nurse..... Elaine Pintoe
Stanley Kowalski..... Eric Herzog
Stella Kowalski..... Veronica Mannion
Blanche DuBois..... Gigi Benson
Steve Hubbell..... Raymond Mark
Harold Mitchell (Mitch)..... Charles Evans
Pablo Gonzales..... Tony Rocha

A Streetcar Named Desire is best known as the landmark American play that introduced Marlon Brando to the world. But there’s so much more to this vivid story of Blanche DuBois and her tragic struggle with fantasy and reality. Rediscover Streetcar’s smoldering poetry and shocking intensity in director Sue Trigg's intimate, ‘in-the-round’ production. Notably, this is the very first production of a full-length Tennessee Williams play in the Altarena’s history. [May not be suitable for children under 13.]

A Streetcar Named Desire runs five weekends only, so don't miss your chance to kick off the summer with a little bit of heat.
