Roundabout Theatre Company has announced that celebrated make-up designer Angelina Avallone and the Kit Kat Girls from Cabaret will give a FREE make-up demonstration at MAC Cosmetics Times Square (1540 Broadway) on Thursday, August 28 at 3pm. MAC is the Official Makeup partner of Cabaret. Guests will learn from Avallone how to recreate the bold signature look of 1920s Berlin she designed for the hit Broadway revival. The demonstration will be followed-up by a live performance by the Kit Kat Girls.
CABARET officially opened on April 24, 2014 at the newly transformed Kit Kat Klub at Studio 54 on Broadway (254 West 54th Street). Cabaret's Tony-winning star Alan Cumming recently extended his acclaimed run as "Emcee" for the second time, through March 29, 2015. Linda Emond and Danny Burstein have also extended their 2014 Tony-nominated performances to March 29, 2015. Michelle Williams will play her final performance as "Sally Bowles" on November 9, 2014; celebrated film star and Golden Globe nominee Emma Stone makes her Broadway debut in the role from November 11, 2014 through February 1, 2015.
For this production, Academy Award winner Sam Mendes (director) and Academy Award nominee Rob Marshall (co-director/choreographer) recreated their Tony-nominated direction and choreography from the 1998 Tony Award-winning production. Cabaret features a book by Joe Masteroff, music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb. It is based on the play by John Van Druten and stories by Christopher Isherwood. Musical Direction is by Patrick Vaccariello.
The cast also features Bill Heck as "Cliff", Aaron Krohn as "Ernst" and Gayle Rankin as "Fraulein Kost". The Cabaret Kit Kat Klub boys and girls are: Will Carlyon, Kaleigh Cronin, Caleb Damschroder, Benjamin Eakeley, Andrea Goss, Leeds Hill, Kristin Olness, Kelly Paredes, Jessica Pariseau, Dylan Paul, Jane Pfitsch, Evan Siegel, Stacey Sipowicz.
For Cabaret, Studio 54 has been converted into the gritty Kit Kat Klub with Cabaret-type seating as well as traditional theatre seating, to recreate the decadent environment of the notorious pre-war Berlin Nightclub.
The original design team returned for the 2014 production featuring set and club design by Robert Brill, costume design by William Ivey Long, lighting design by Peggy Eisenhauer and Mike Baldassari and sound design by Brian Ronan.
CABARET features some of the best-known songs in musical theatre, including "Willkommen," "Maybe This Time" and "Cabaret." John Kander and Fred Ebb are two of the most successful and prolific collaborators in the American Theatre and are currently represented on Broadway with the award-winning revival of Chicago.
CABARET is made possible with Bank of America as a Proud Sponsor, American Airlines as the Official Airline and MAC as the Official Makeup Partner. Major support for Cabaret is provided by The Blanche and Irving Laurie Foundation.
Tickets for Cabaret are available by calling 212.719.1300, at www.roundabouttheatre.org or at the Studio 54 box office (254 West 54th Street). Tickets prices range from $47-$172, excluding premium seats and holiday performances.
