The completely reimaged revival of Side Show will take its much anticipated first bow on Broadway tomorrow, Tuesday, October 28, at the St. James Theatre (246 West 44th Street). Amongst the crowd for the production's first preview will be super-fans of the musical and an array of stars, setting the stage for the kind of excitement normally only seen at opening nights. Directed by Academy Award-winner Bill Condon, Side Show will have its official Opening Night on Monday, November 17.
The producers of Side Show have announced a special Rush Ticket policy for same-day tickets. Beginning at 10:00 a.m. on show days, the St. James Theatre Box Office will sell a limited number of $35 tickets for that day's performance(s) to audience members aged 30 and younger, with valid photo I.D. There is a limit of 2 rush tickets per person, and they are only available in-person at the box office.
Regular tickets, beginning at $49, can be purchased by visiting SideShowBroadway.com or, in-person, at the St. James Theatre Box Office.
Featuring a "supercharged score" (Charles Isherwood, New York Times), Side Show includes new music by multiple Grammy Award winner and Academy Award, Golden Globe, and Tony Award nominee Henry Krieger (Dreamgirls), with book and lyrics by Tony Award nominee Bill Russell and additional book material by Bill Condon, and choreography by Tony and Olivier Award nominee Anthony Van Laast (Mamma Mia!).
Side Show is inspired by the remarkable true story of the Hilton twins, Daisy and Violet, who were legends in their time and the highest paid performers on the vaudeville circuit. Side Show is their heartwarming search for first love and acceptance amidst the spectacle of fame and scrutiny under the spotlight.
