Does anybody have a map... to Canada?

Producer Stacey Mindich just announced that she will partner with Canadian producer David Mirvish to present the first international production of the Tony & Grammy Award-winning musical Dear Evan Hansen, which will play Toronto's Royal Alexandra Theatre beginning in March 2019. The original Broadway production team - including Tony, Grammy, and Academy Award winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (Music & Lyrics), Tony Award-winner Steven Levenson (Book), and four-time Tony Award nominee Michael Greif (Direction) - will reunite to launch this production.

"I'm very proud to bring Dear Evan Hansen to Canada next year and partner with David Mirvish, known for the quality of his Canadian productions," Mindich said. "Our show is all about connection, and it's exciting to think about audiences in another country finding that profound connection."

"I first saw Dear Evan Hansen at the Second Stage in April 2016. My reaction to it was immediate and profound. It moved and entertained me as few other shows have ever done," Mirvish said. "I knew it was a show that had to be seen in Toronto. We are delighted that Stacey Mindich - whose dedication to the honest telling of this story and to the creative team that created it is a testament to the making of great theatre - has chosen us to be the show's first International production. I am confident Canadian audiences will love the show as much as I do, and will cherish the universal truths it tells."

Dear Evan Hansen continues its sold-out, record-breaking run on Broadway, and a multi-city U.S. touring production launches in September 2018 in Denver, Colorado.

The winner of six 2017 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Dear Evan Hansen features a book by Tony Award-winner Steven Levenson, a score by Academy Award and Tony winning composersBenj Pasek & Justin Paul, and direction by 4-time Tony® Award nominee Michael Greif. A special edition coffee table book authored by Levenson, Pasek and Paul, Dear Evan Hansen: through the window (Grand Central Publishing / Melcher) is now available, offering an in-depth, all-access look at the musical, including never-before-seen production photos and cast portraits, behind-the-scenes stories, and a fully annotated script by the authors.

Declared "One of the most remarkable shows in musical theater history" by the Washington Post's Peter Marks, Dear Evan Hansen opened on Broadway at the Music Box Theatre to rave reviews on December 4, 2016, where it's broken all box office records and has struck a chord with critics and audiences alike.
