We are yet another day closer to the biggest night on every theatre-lover's calendar- the 69th Annual Tony Awards, which will be co-hosted by Kristin Chenoweth and Alan Cumming on Sunday, June 7 (8PM on CBS). Earlier this month, the 2015 Tony nominees gathered to meet the press and BroadwayWorld was on hand for the big day. Below, we bring you an exclusive interview with Micah Stock, Best Performance by an Featured Actor in a Play for It's Only a Play.
This is Stock's Broadway debut. Off-Broadway: World Premiere of Terrence McNally's And Away We Go (The Pearl). Regional: Sundance Theatre Lab, Actors Theatre of Louisville's Humana Festival, Long Wharf Theatre, Williamstown Theatre Festival. Film:King Kelly (Official Selection: SXSW, Puchon Film Festivals). TV: "Pan Am", "Law & Order: SVU", and a recurring role on NBC's "Deception". Education: BFA, SUNY Purchase Conservatory.
It's opening night of Peter Austin's (Matthew Broderick) new play as he anxiously awaits to see if his show is a hit. With his career on the line, he shares his big First Night with his best friend, a television star (Nathan Lane), his novice producer (Katie Finneran), his doped-up diva (Stockard Channing), his genius director (T.R. Knight), a lethal drama critic (F. Murray Abraham), and a fresh-off-the-bus coat check attendant (Micah Stock) on his first night in Manhattan. It's alternately raucous, ridiculous and tender-and proves that sometimes the biggest laughs happen offstage.
Don't forget to tune in to BroadwayWorld for Broadway's biggest night, the 69th Annual Tony Awards. The stars will align at Radio City Music Hall on Sunday, June 7, 2015 and we'll be bringing you exclusive, live photos, videos and blogs of everything that's happening from the red carpet to the winners' room; the pre-show ceremony to the after parties. We'll be there for it all, and there's no better place for comprehensive coverage this Sunday than BroadwayWorld! Don't forget to tweet us pics of your Tony Awards party using #BWWTonys!?
