The Drama League (Executive Director, Gabriel Shanks) announced the 2015 Drama League Awards Nominees this morning at a ceremony hosted by Tony® Award winners Cherry Jones and Denis O'Hare at Sardi's Restaurant, which were streamed live online at www.BroadwayWorld.com. The Nominee Announcement was hosted by National Life Group, a longstanding Drama League partner and supporter of the arts. The nominations announcement begins the month of celebrations leading up to the 81st Annual Drama League Awards, which will be held at the Marriott Marquis Times Square (1535 Broadway) on Friday, May 15, 2015. First awarded in 1922 and formalized in 1935, The Drama League Awards are the oldest theatrical honors in America. They are the only major theatergoer awards chosen by audience members - specifically, by the thousands of Drama League members nationwide who attend Broadway and Off-Broadway productions.
