Two River Theater just announced its 2015/16 season, and among the lineup is the musical A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM, directed by Jessica Stone and featuring an all-male troupe led by An Act of God's Christopher Fitzgerald as 'Pseudolus', a slave who tries to win his freedom by playing matchmaker for his innocent young master.

With music & lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by Burt Shevelove & Larry Gelbart, '...FORUM' will be choreographed by Denis Jones (Honeymoon in Vegas) and plays the Rechnitz Theater, running November 14-December 13, 2015. Opening night is slated for November 20, 2015.

Director Jessica Stone returns to Two River, where she made her debut last season with Alan Ayckbourn's Absurd Person Singular, to mount a show inspired by her acclaimed 2010 Williamstown Theatre Festival production. A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM was the winner of of the 1963 Tony Award for Best Musical.

Fitzgerald recently completed filming the new DIRECTV series, "Almost There", starring opposite Steven Pasquale. Among his Broadway credits are The Merchant of Venice, Finian's Rainbow (Drama Desk Award, Tony and OCC Award nominations), Young Frankenstein (Tony, Drama Desk, OCC Award nominations), Wicked, Amour (Drama Desk Award nomination) and Chicago. Off-Broadway, he has appeared in The Winter's Tale (Public), Gutenberg! The Musical! (Actor's Playhouse) Observe the Sons of Ulster Marching Towards the Somme (Lincoln Center), Saturday Night (Second Stage. Drama Desk Award nomination), Wise Guys (NYTW), Corpus Christi (MTC), The Cripple of Inishmaan (Public), Chichester Festival Theatre (UK), Williamstown Theater Festival (13 seasons ). Among his TV credits are "The Good Wife", "Elementary" and more; the actor has also appeared in the films Girl Most Likely, Larry Gaye: Renegade Male Flight Attendant, Personal Velocity, and Dedication.
